Thursday -  a meeting with the 2nd director, heading back to Cumbria, and continuing the presentation prep

On Thursday 15th February (having stopped in Birchwood overnight) we went back to the head office to interview the other director that we were there to see; Lesley Grey. We questioned Lesley about leadership and how she got to being a director and Lesley explained that in her opinion, one of the most important attributes of a leader is the ability to communicate with others. Lesley said that getting to where she is now involved a lot of hard work, but that also there is a need to take a few gambles, with the likes of accepting new careers, which can be worrying at times. We were told about what Lesley thinks makes a good leader, and her original background. We found out that Lesley did a degree in chemistry with a PhD in Chemical Engineering, however her job at the moment does not involve chemistry, which shows how much jobs can change and that whatever career we start with, there will be availability to change jobs and gain promotions that aren't necessarily in your original field of study.

After speaking to Lesley, we travelled back to Westlakes science park, where we recapped about what we had learned Thursday and Wednesday morning, before proceeding to continue with preparation for our presentation the next day as well as working on the website for the showcase event.
